Fly and Lake Fishing

Yaraandoo is situated directly opposite Yens Bay which is well known for producing large numbers of quality rainbow and brown trout. Fishing on the lake is year around, whilst fishing the rivers and streams if from the October long week through until the June long weekend. These long weekends are prime fishing for the large numbers of spawning trout. We usually promote a "catch and release" policy during the spawning period.

Visitors have several options to fish either with bait, lures or flies. We will happily give you guidance and advice on any of these options.

You'll love the convenient location with plenty of parking for your boats. When the lake's up you can sit around the verandah with a beer and watch the trout rise. The homestead is fully set up for self-catering (bring your own towels), in house catering is possible by arrangment.

For an idea of the fishing experience available at Yaraandoo, check out the Fishing Gallery.

What to Bring

Fishermen and fisherladies usually bring their own fishing rods and gear. Flies, lures and bait can be purchased locally in Adaminaby.

And for a comprehensive range of fishing gear at great prices contact our friends at A1flyfishing.

Guides

If you need some guiding or fly fishing lessons there are several local experts who are usually available by arrangement. Just let us know and we can set this up as part of your stay.
